Porcelain Veneers
Introduction to Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers– are very thin porcelain custom sheaths that fit on the front and sometimes side of your tooth. Veneers are often used to treat stained, broken/chipped, misshaped/crooked, and unesthetic teeth and smiles. In addition, it is also used to close large spaces (diastemas) in between teeth.
The tooth preparation of a porcelain veneer is more conservative than a crown prep. The thin porcelain sheath is bonded to your tooth with a resin that bonds to the tooth and to the inner side of the veneer. Once bonded, the veneer’s strength is exponentially increased.
